Head of Data & Analytics
Welcome to Alf!
Hi there! We are Alf – a tech company born from the legacy of Länsförsäkringar Alliance, one of Sweden’s largest and most trusted financial groups, with over 3.9 million customers.
At Alf, we’re blending 200+ years of expertise with cutting-edge IoT technology to create a secure and sustainable way of living. Our mission? To empower customers to proactively care for and protect their homes, using smart solutions that make life easier and safer.
About the job.
As Head of Data & Analytics at LFTT, you will play a key role in shaping our data strategy and fostering a data-driven culture. This role blends technical leadership—working with our data platform, infrastructure, and tech stack—with strategic efforts to ensure that data is leveraged effectively to support business and product development.
You’ll work closely with our Analytics Engineer and tech team to develop and maintain our data platform, ensuring it evolves to meet future needs in a cost-efficient and scalable way. At the same time, you will be responsible for creating a data strategy together with leadership, product teams, and external stakeholders such as Länsbolagen and LF AB, ensuring that data insights help drive informed decisions.
Beyond technical and strategic aspects, you will act as an advocate for data-driven decision-making across the company, fostering a culture where data is accessible, useful, and embedded into our way of working. You will also support and grow our data team, which currently consists of one Analytics Engineer but is expected to expand over time. With a structured and proactive approach, you will help bridge business needs with technical solutions, ensuring that data plays a central role in LFTT’s success.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize data use cases in collaboration with product teams, Länsbolagen, and LF AB, ensuring that data is used to support business development and product improvements.
- Conduct workshops and training initiatives to enhance data understanding and adoption across the organization.
- Develop and execute a data strategy and roadmap, working closely with the leadership team, architects, and other stakeholders to prioritize efforts based on business value and efficiency.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends by exploring new technologies and innovations that can optimize data-driven decision-making.
- Support and grow the data team, structuring and expanding it as business needs evolve.
About you.
You have a strong technical background, likely with a master’s degree in computer engineering or a related field. A background in mathematics or another technical discipline is also relevant if you have developed the necessary skills through work experience or similar.
Your career has given you broad exposure to Data & Analytics, possibly as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Analyst, or Data Scientist, and you have experience with data platform architecture.
You have worked across business and product performance analytics (app and web analytics) and understand how data can drive improvements across multiple areas. Experience in a smaller company where you’ve had end-to-end responsibility is a plus, as is a commercial background. While experience in the insurance industry is beneficial, it is not a requirement.
We are looking for someone with:
Expertise in: Data modeling principles, SQL and dbt
Proficiency in: The Databricks platform (Unity Catalog, workspaces, notebooks, RBAC), orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Databricks Workflows, streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka, IaC frameworks such as Terraform, CI/CD principles and frameworks such as GitHub Actions, Apache Spark (PySpark), and visualization tools like Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
Basic understanding of: Azure environments and services relating to data storage, processing and transfer such as Storage Accounts, Virtual Machines, Networking, IAM and Function Apps
Beyond technical skills, we are looking for someone who is analytical, curious, and a natural problem-solver. You enjoy working at the intersection of technology and business, translating complex data challenges into strategic opportunities. Your strong communication skills allow you to collaborate seamlessly with technical teams, leadership, and external partners. With a proactive and structured approach, you thrive in both high-level strategic discussions and hands-on problem-solving.
Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is essential.
