About the job.

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Alf, you’ll become a key player in designing and building the backend services that power our connected IoT solutions and support our frontend app development. You’ll take the lead on implementing robust, scalable systems and collaborate closely with teams across security, DevOps, and data analysis to ensure seamless, high-quality solutions.

Your role will go far beyond coding. You’ll take ownership of the entire development process — from design and architecture to implementation and documentation. You’ll also work closely with external partners to realize our event-driven architecture effectively.

About you.

You bring a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in backend development. Ideally, you have a solid understanding of modern development methodologies and thrive in fast-moving, progressive environments.

Experience with event-driven systems and IoT will certainly give you an edge, though it’s not required. Familiarity with our tech stack, which includes Node.js, JavaScript, JSON, REST APIs, Kubernetes, Docker, and databases like MongoDB or other NoSQL systems, as well as relational databases, will help you get off to a running start.

As a person, you are self-driven and proactive, taking ownership of your work and continually seeking ways to improve both processes and solutions. Your approach to problem-solving is solution-oriented, and you enjoy tackling challenges with creativity and adaptability. Collaboration is key for you, and you work well with others, listening carefully and communicating clearly to contribute to a positive and productive team dynamic.
